Akbar Faizal is a seasoned politician and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in Indonesia's legislative body (Member of the House of Representatives, 2009–2019), representing South Sulawesi II under two different political parties: Hanura and NasDem. His passion for organization and leadership began in junior high school and matured during his years in various student movements, where he honed his political instincts. Before entering politics, Akbar started his career as a journalist, working for several print and regional media outlets across Indonesia. His formal political career began with the Democratic Party during its formative years, where he was appointed as the first Chairman of the Democratic Party Youth Wing. He later joined the Hanura Party, which marked his first entry into parliament. In 2013, before the end of his five-year term, Akbar transitioned to the NasDem Party and was successfully re-elected for the 2014–2019 period.
Drawing from his extensive political experience particularly in parliamentary and presidential elections Akbar founded PatraData Dashboard System, a company specializing in big data algorithms for electoral processes. Today, Patra Data is recognized as a political consultancy firm built on data-driven strategies, with proprietary algorithms tailored to political analysis. Over time, the company has expanded its expertise to include business research and consulting services.
